Our First Night Comfort Kit Drive is meant to ease the trauma of a child's first night stay in a new Foster Home.

To do this, we’re asking community members throughout North Dakota (and beyond) who want to collaborate with FOSTER YOUR COMMUNITY to create a “subgroup” and host a First Night Comfort Kit Drive in their community.

The Process: The subgroup would promote the drive within their community, while asking community members to donate specific items at drop locations (identified by the subgroup) that will then be used to assemble the kits. Once the items are collected, the subgroup will assemble the kits, which will then be donated to an organization of the subgroup's choice. For example, County Social Services or another organization that works with the Foster Community. Those organizations would then distribute the kits to the Foster Kiddos or the Foster Families (depending on the nature of the kit).

This Specific Kit Includes: A pack of underwear OR diapers, a pack of socks, a pair of pajamas, a toothbrush, and toothpaste. You may also add any additional items that may be donated by local businesses in your area. For example, shampoo, conditioner, a comb or brush, a book, a stuffed animal, and so forth.

What FYC Provides to You: FOSTER YOUR COMMUNITY will provide you with digital marketing materials to help promote your specific drive...before, during, and after. We also highly recommend that you purchase our signature FYC bags to put your collected items in. Each drive has a branded bag that's specific to that individual drive. Those bags are available for purchase at cost. You may consider finding a business to "sponsor" the bags.

Whether you’re a Foster Family or not, our drives are an easy and tangible way for you and your fellow community members to support these kiddos and the overall Foster Community. To host a drive in your community, please fill out the form below.
